Q: What are the charger specs?
A: ChargePoint CPE Express 250 (62.5kW each). Paired for 125kW maximum output.
Q: What are the charger connector types?
A: Both chargers are equipped with CCS and CHAdeMO connectors.
Q: Is it free to charge?
A: No. The EV charge customer will be responsible for paying for the kWh's used.
Q: How much does it cost to charge?
A: The cost is determined by Tuscumbia Utilities and the City of Tuscumbia and may vary based on demand and usage. The cost is $0.42/kWh effective November 2023.
Q: Who gets the money from this charger?

Q: Can I charge my Tesla?
A: You will need an adapter (CCS1 to NACS) to charge a Tesla.

A: The specific charge time depends on the vehicle and battery size.
Q: Who paid for these chargers?
A: The City of Tuscumbia / Tuscumbia Utilities applied for and received a grant from TVA to cover 80% of the cost to install the chargers. The City of Tuscumbia will pay for the remaining 20%.
Q: Can I park an EV in the space even if I am not charging?
A: No. The parking spaces are reserved for EV active charge sessions only. As soon as you are fully charged please relocate your vehicle to another parking space.
Q: Can I charge in either EV space even though one space is striped?
A: Yes. One space has all the required clearances to comply with accessibility guidelines. However, if the space is available it can be used by anyone (even if you do not have an accessibility requirement).
